EAST2EAST

We are raising money for the East Africa DEC Appeal! East2East will take place on August 18th at the Hewett Street Gallery in Shoreditch. Feel free to drop us a line at East2eastfundraiser@gmail!

Update!

2 days to go and we haven’t uploaded the blog lots recently - most of the action is happening on Facebook so don’t forget to check out our event page!

We got some great coverage in the Indie on Sunday, Time Out online, London Unlike and the Dazed blog - so fingers crossed we won’t be left alone with our tons of Becks and Rosemount Wines (THANKS GUYS!) on Thursday night.

We got some more great prizes added to the raffle list (including Pat Butcher’s earrings and blouse with a certificate of authenticity, Fred Perry, Nike ID and Whistles vouchers) and it’s all looking good, from what we gathered when we met at the Spurstowe earlier. The air horn has been ordered, the bunting is on its way and all we miss will be you on Thursday night!

This is all very exciting. We won’t raise millions but hope that we can do a bit of a difference. This week has shown how amazing human beings can be when it comes to help those who need it most and hopefully we can do the same again. Let’s not mention the riots but rather focus on what has happened after them…..

More Raffle Goodies

Happy Monday everyone!

Quick update on our raffle prizes…

Cinema lovers will be able to get their hands on free cinema tickets, courtesy of our favourite theatre, the amazing Rio in Dalston.

The lovely team at Frame is giving a generous £50 voucher to use on any of their classes - Reformer pilates to Dance like Beyonce, you name it they got it.

We are chuffed by the amount of prizes we already managed to secure thanks to our super supportive local businesses. Thank you so much to all of you!

The flyer should be ready today - EXCITING!!!

Shout Out!

We have been begging/stalking quite a few patient people in the past week so we thought that it would be only normal to introduce you to our generous partners.

The lovely people at 18 Hewett Street, who are providing us with the venue.

The ever-reliable Ellis from Shiftworks Studio, who’s giving us the gift of beats with his soundsystem.

Best coffee in the East, Wilton’s Way are donating a prize of ‘Breakfast for 2’ for the raffle.

Mmmm, beer…fine diners Mason & Taylors are donating ‘Tasting flights for 4’ (that’s a selection of delicious beers in the restaurant) for the raffle.

Jenny Jenny jewellery will tassle up a signature pair of her earrings (as worn by the likes of Beth Ditto, don’t you know) for the raffle.

The nice folk at Darling Department will be donating a bundle of some of the hottest sounds around with a special CD selection for the raffle.

Red Bull will be giving us wings, not really, but they are kindly donating stock for the bar and a raffle prize of a day’s shadowing of a producer/engineer in the world famous Red Bull Studios.

Jeweller extraordinaire Gogo Philip will donate a set of their super fashionable precious bijoux. A hit with the press and stylists we expect it to be a hit on the night too!

That’s it for now folks! And yes we need pictures.

More Music

Big thanks to Trevor Jackson and Matt Walsh who are joining our music team!

East2East

East London is raising funds for East Africa. That’s the deal.

The East African famine crisis, despite some heart-wrenching articles in the press, doesn’t seem to be getting the exposure or the aid it desperately needs.

So we’re putting on a night of FUNraising at 18 Hewett Street on the 18th of August, 7-11.30pm. A team of some of the best DJs in the area will get together to tag-team, with each DJ playing with the theme “songs that shaped me”.

So far the line-up for DJs includes:

New Young Pony Club

Rory Phillips

The Duke Spirit

Girlcore

Todd Hart

Paradise

Clancy

Rewind Loretta

Make It Stop, Mum!

More tba

We’ll be charging a £5 suggested donation entry fee (please feel free to give more! The more the better! The more the merrier! etc)

Alongside the music, there’ll be other bits and pieces going on during the night such as games/raffles/drinking and the award-winning Meatwagon street-food van will also be pitching up for some tasty burgers.

All proceeds will go to the DEC appeal.

In the next few days/couple of weeks we will introduce you to the lovely people who are making East2East possible.
